Work Schedule: The schedule varies seasonally. Weekends throughout the day and weekday evenings 12-25 hrs. per week.

Brief Description of Work/Duties:
This employee will perform a wide variety of duties patrolling the Botanical Gardens for the security of plants, signs, artwork, and water features, as well as the safety of visitors and the enforcement of the parks and recreation rules and regulations, pet leash laws, and checking for permits. This employee will be required to open and clean restrooms, empty trash cans, blow walkways, as well as open and close gates. Must have good communication skills, legible handwriting for weekly reports, follow verbal and written instructions and be able to work independently in the absence of the supervisor. This individual must be punctual and dependable. The physical duties of the job consist of walking, standing, bending, and lifting no more the 30 pounds. Must have a reliable means of transportation.
This job is Non-Exempt under FLSA policy.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid Driver’s License
- High School Diploma/GED
- Experience enforcing NC Laws, handling complaints, disturbances, and other related problems
An Ideal Candidate Would Also Possess (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience working in the security field
- Experience working with people in an outdoor environment
- Bi-lingual (Spanish/English)
