Job Description

Job Title:Game Night and Event Operations Manager


Job Summary:The Game Night and Event Operations Manager will be tasked with growing Ignite Sports & Entertainment brands, including the Columbus River Dragons Hockey and Columbus Chatt-a-Hoots Baseball teams, as well as Golden Park and Chattahoochee Monsters Baseball through all facets of game night and event operations, in-game events and entertainment, event-based marketing in and around the greater Columbus area, and generating sales revenue from new corporate advertising, sponsorship, and ticket sales. This role is both tactical and operational in nature and requires a candidate that is able to multitask with multiple deliverables and partner with multiple work groups, while also ensuring that deadlines are met.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Supply all required post game reporting and feedback to leadership after all events
  • Confirm that a Game Night Prep sheet is completed for each Ignite Sports & Entertainment event, in conjunction with the Columbus Civic Center Staff, and any event at Golden Park
  • Coordinate, with help and input of marketing team, and execute any team/mascot appearances and/or community/sponsor event appearances representing Ignite Sports & Entertainment in the Greater Columbus area
  • Pre- and Post-Game set-up and breakdown, as well as any event set up and breakdown, where needed
  • Contribute to all company aspects on an “as needed” basis
  • Identify new sales and advertising prospects and track all contacts, companies and sales opportunities in company provided CRM (Customer Relationship Management) tool
  • Sales goals and expectations will be set at a later date, based on capabilities and ability to balance workload
  • Design and curate ideas and opportunities to expand Ignite Sports & Entertainment reach in the local communities and schools through proposed events and partnerships in the Greater Columbus area
  • Define and track all relevant KPI’s and deliver weekly reports to leadership while providing feedback and direction on needs and next steps
  • Plan, coordinate and execute all aspects of game night operations and entertainment for Ignite Sports & Entertainment, in conjunction with the Columbus Civic Center staff, as well as any event operations at Golden Park
  • Maintain unified brand voice across different organizations and entities
  • Responsible for ensuring proper mascots uniform and costume for all games, cleaning of uniform and costume and transportation of uniform and costume to all off-site appearances
  • Transport or planned transport of all event-related materials (tents/tables/giveaways/as needed items)
  • Creation and cataloging of all game night scripting for all live home games and event operations, including planned events, entertainment (per-game, in-game/intermission, and post-game), proposed music choices, sponsor/promo cues and any in-game promotions/raffles, including oversight of the jumbotron
  • Support and manage any applicable Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable responsibilities in conjunction with the Ignite Sports & Entertainment Finance Team
  • Interact with all game night staff, interns and announcers to ensure a smooth execution of all game night operations
  • Provide feedback and generate new ideas for merchandise product designs and marketing campaigns
  • Oversee recruiting, direction, and planning of game night support staff for Ignite Sports & Entertainment and any event staffing needs for Golden Park events, including interns
  • Responsible for prospecting, creating, building, and maintaining new and existing corporate advertising and sponsorship relationships, including group and season ticket sales for Ignite Sports & Entertainment and affiliated events held at Golden Park
  • Participate in all weekly team meetings and supply input, ideas and experience where needed


Requirements:

  • Position requires some ability to move and lift at least 20lbs
  • Extrovert, sociable and outgoing personality is essential to this position
  • Proficiency with analytical expertise is a big plus
  • Critical thinker, good organizational and multi-tasking habits and problem-solving skills are required
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office, Adobe products, Ticket Systems and a CRM are necessary
  • Superior communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and time-management skills are mandatory
  • Proven work experience and established successful track record in sales and operations, or similar role
  • Adeptness to deliver all projects in a timely fashion and work within a tight timeline
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; adapt to change quickly in the work environment, manage competing demands and handle frequent changes
  • Ability to work through a “No” or slow-moving process to deliver on objectives
  • May also be exposed to weather of varying degrees for extended periods of time
  • Capable of functioning in a heavily crowded outdoor/indoor professional sports venue/environment.
  • Attendance on nights and weekends, and possibly holidays, based on games schedules is required
  • Review and knowledge of other successful events and relevant operations is a must
  • BS degree in Management, Marketing, or relevant field
  • Capacity to be creative with in-game events and entertainment; This role has to live outside of the box
