Welcome to the world of land-based gaming. Light & Wonder’s gaming team builds cutting-edge technology, products, and content for the most iconic casinos and operators across the globe.
Position Summary
Light & Wonder is looking for an experienced game artist who enjoys creating expressive characters, building rich worlds, and telling evocative and emotive stories. Your companions on this journey are a group of intrepid and experienced slot game artists and designers who have been responsible for some of the most daring, original, and successful slot gaming products developed in the last decade. Responsibilities:
  • Works closely with the Art Director and the team to conceptualize, storyboard, prototype and ultimately create high quality final game art in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Provides creative solutions to artistic and technical problems.
  • Develop and create unique emotive characters and immersive worlds.
  • Create art that tells a story in one picture.
  • Communicate game direction through thumbnails and storyboards.
  • Revise, edit and modify sketches as needed, per director's notes.
  • Supports engineering development by updating and modifying artwork to meet technical requirements.
Qualifications
Education:
  • Degree or certificate in Art Design or its equivalent.
Experience:
  • 2-4 years of experience in gaming or as a commercial artist.
Skill & Qualifications:
  • 3D modeling software experience is a plus (Maya, Blender, Houdini, Substance Painter, Zbrush or equivalent).
  • Ability to create special effects
  • Knowledge of 2D and 3D animation, and familiarity with the principles of animation, preffered.
  • Strong understanding of visual language - texture, color, dimension, scale, perspective, shade, composition depth of field, proportion, spatial awareness, etc
  • Exceptional illustration, color, and composition abilities.
  • Team player, ability to work independently
  • Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator.
  • Cinematic eye for lighting and shading
  • Strong drawing skills, ability to visualize and design from abstract ideas
  • Knowledge of lighting, perspective, material finishes and special effects
  • Talent for visual storytelling
