2D Generalist II

Seeking an experienced Artist with excellent 2D digital painting, illustration, and visual design skills. This role is a key creative force within a small studio designing and implementing fun and exciting visual elements for slot games including symbols, backgrounds, characters, and more. You will work hand-in-hand with a passionate group of world-class game designers, software developers, and other artists from product conception to release.

Position Responsibilities:

• Maintain adaptability to changing needs and visual styles as necessary.
• Collaborate closely with Game Designer and Lead Artist to achieve visual goals.
• Record work progress, bug reports and time through regular updates in JIRA.
• Develop 2D digital game characters symbols, backgrounds, and UI graphic assets for casino gaming.
• Ensure deliverables meet all creative and technical requirements.
• Create and evolve artwork from concept through production.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to adapt to the illustration abilities and techniques of others.
• Experience designing eye-catching logos, typography, and themed fonts.
• Highly organized and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Casino game art experience: land based, mobile, or online; with a focus on video slots.
• Highly proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to quickly adapt to new art directions and critique.

Useful Competencies

• Previous experience working with a technical artist.
• Experience creating eye-catching marketing collateral.
• Working knowledge of After Effects is a plus.

Education and Experience:

• Experience in game development or related industry experience of 5+ years.
• A comprehensive and detailed portfolio of completed artwork is required for review before being considered for this position. Online portfolios are preferred but will be accepted in any digital or hard copy format.
• Completion of an Art & Design Program from accredited post-secondary institution or relevant work experience in lieu of education.
