G.Future: Gerdau’s Next Generation of Leaders

To invest in our junior talent, Gerdau proudly offers G.Future, a program designed to develop future leaders for the company. As members of this leadership program, participants will be put through an intensive 18-month program that utilizes on-the-job learning, classroom training, coaching and ongoing mentorship from various leaders to shape the G.Futures into our future managerial and technical leaders. Examples include: proposing, developing and implementing Digital solutions for business opportunities, analyze, select and implement technologies solutions, both applications and infrastructure, work with data and analytics and emerging technologies.
  • Further your development by interacting with other G.Futures from across North America while tackling some of the organization’s biggest challenges.
  • G.Future also offers a Mentorship Program, a unique feature designed to help participants build a successful career. Your mentor will be a seasoned professional within the company who will facilitate your integration with Gerdau, help you understand Gerdau’s values and business culture and streamline your training by providing you technical knowledge and business vision.
  • Work as a leader managing the strategic implementation for overall business goals.
  • Grow a set of managerial, interpersonal, analytical, and technical skills.
  • Work with software such as SAP, MES (Manufacturing Execution System) and Excel.

Procurement Responsibilities

This position will be supporting the Procurement Department and exposure to all Commodities. (Direct, Indirect Materials & Services, Capex) The responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Development of Long Term Strategy in Category Management
  • Execute Supply Agreements and Legal Contracts
  • Manage Strategic Sourcing Process (RFI/RFP)
  • Reporting & Data Analytics (SAP ECC/SAP Ariba/PowerBI)
  • Negotiations with Suppliers to Obtain the Best Commercial Offers
  • Creation of Purchase Orders and supporting in the Procure to Pay (P2P) Process
  • Special Projects for Process Improvements & Automation
  • Building Relationships with Key End Users as Locations Across US/Canada

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Accounting, Engineering, or other related discipline
  • Recent college graduate within the last two years - recently completed or be in the process of completing degree before program starts
  • A high learning agility and willingness to adapt and develop continuously
  • Preference for those with a degree-related internship experience
  • Well-rounded applicants with leadership roles in student organizations or extra-curricular activities
  • Willing to travel to various locations within the United States during the length of the program
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring current or future sponsorship for employment
  • Record of high academic achievement (Minimum GPA 2.5, preferred GPA 3.0 or higher)
