FX Legal/Business Affairs negotiates deals and drafts license agreements as well as agreements for above-the-line talent (producers, writers, directors, actors and casting directors) and underlying rights for scripted and unscripted streaming programming. The Department also provides support for other departments within the company (e.g. development, production, finance, legal), and ancillary activities.
A Day in the Life…
As an intern, you’ll be involved in a variety of exciting projects that will challenge and develop your skillset. Projects/work will include drafting deal memos and short form agreements along with playing the role of an information hub by distributing negotiation updates, closed deals, and signed agreements between different departments.
What we are looking for…
We are seeking hard-working individuals who have a passion for entertainment law, negotiation theory, and the television business. This is your chance to gain hands-on experience in an encouraging and creative environment!
While prior experience in media/entertainment is a plus, it’s not a deal-breaker. Here are the basic qualifications we’re looking for:
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong interest in entertainment law, the television business, and/or negation theory/strategy (relevant coursework is a bonus)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is a must and familiarity with OneNote is highly desirable
- A detailed-oriented approach, even when processing a large volume of documents
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and meet deadlines under pressure
Required Education:
- All students must be currently enrolled in a Juris Doctorate (JD) degree program.
Preferred Education:
- Preference shown for students who are in at least the second year of their JD degree program.

Program Eligibility
- Must provide own relocation, housing and transportation. Position is located in Los Angeles, CA.
- The approximate dates of this internship are January 2024 - May 2024.
- Must possess unrestricted work authorization.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Candidate must be available to work part time hours (approximately 24 hours per week) for the duration of the internship.
- Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
