FULL TIME BUS OPERATORS
Pay Rate: $21.98 per hour

GRTC Transit System is currently seeking drivers, at least 21 years of age, with excellent customer service skills for full time Bus Operator positions. Preference will be given to those who already hold a CDL Class B License with a P endorsement . Successful Candidates must have positive point balance on their driving record and must be able to pass a background check, a pre-employment drug test and a DOT physical.

WORK SCHEDULE
After completing our training program, the schedule could entail working weekends and evening shifts. This position is eligible for overtime. Must be available to work all shifts.

STARTING WAGES AND BENEFITS
The hourly wage is $21.98 per hour, plus a uniform and shoe allowance. The company provides a generous pension contribution with mandatory pension deduction and offers a rich benefit package.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities: Drives bus to transport passengers over specified routes to local or distant points according to a time schedule while providing safe and courteous service to the public.

• Maintains a professional appearance at all times
• Collects fares
• Responsible for effectively dealing with difficult customers and situations
• Must be able to communicate effectively by using both written and verbal skill
• Provides high level of service while operating bus under a variety of conditions
• Complies with local traffic regulations (Reports delays or accidents)
• Regulates heating, lighting, and ventilating systems for passenger comfort
• Maintains transport schedule

Physical Demands

• Must be able to work in all changes in weather conditions
• 20/20 vision or corrected lenses required
• Must be able to sit for long periods of time
• Must be able to bend to secure wheel chairs in the vehicle
• Infrequent lifting and twisting required
