Job Description
Summary
Transport students to and from school and to field trips as needed. Ensure adherence to all safety rules and ensure passengers in boarding or exiting. Great attention to road rules and safety.
Duties
  • Excellent patience and stamina for keeping up with the demands of children of all ages
  • Advanced multitasking and organizational skills to handle multiple children at a time
  • Strong verbal communication and listening skills to converse with children, fellow professional caregivers and parents or guardians
  • Physical abilities? Must be able to bend, stoop, stand, and lift up to 25-40lbs daily
  • Caring and compassionate attitude when interacting with and caring for children,
  • Complete a daily inspection of the bus, a weekly inspection of tires, oil, blades, etc. and report all bus maintenance issues to the Director.
  • Establish routes, schedules and procedures with the school director to maximize safety of children.
  • Meet and maintain all state licensing requirements/qualifications.
  • Attend all staff trainings and pursue professional training when available.
  • Adhere to the established schedule to the best of your ability.
  • Ensure the safety of the children at all times.
  • Maintain flexibility regarding the business demands of the school, including scheduled working hours and assignments.
  • Insure there is an adequate amount of fuel to complete the trip.
  • Ensure all state mandated items are present and in good working order.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with all personnel and business-related associates.
  • Keep the bus litter free and cleaned up after each bus run.
  • Proper documentation of transportation forms completed as children arrive/load and depart/unload the bus.
  • Observe all Bright from the Start and Department of Motor Vehicles rules and regulations and make sure all speed limits are observed.

Requirements
  • At least 3 year of Driving experience
  • Drive passenger vehicles.
  • Report vehicle or equipment malfunctions.
  • Maintain vehicles in good working condition.
  • Maintain professional knowledge or certifications.
  • Assist customers to ensure comfort or safety.
  • Notify others of emergencies, problems, or hazards.
  • Follow safety procedures for vehicle operation.
  • Clean vehicles or vehicle components.
  • Must work well as a team
  • Clean Driving Record
  • Follow safety procedures for vehicle operation.
