Job Description

Our company is seeking a Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our office team. The successful candidate will maintain financial records, prepare financial reports, reconcile accounts, and manage payroll. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bookkeeping and accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently. We are looking for a detail-oriented individual who can manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.(Experience in full cycle accounting – Factor (PDI Technologies) software experience a plus)

  • Communicates clearly with customers, suppliers, and service providers both written and verbal.
  • Assistance with gathering documents needed for tax filing purposes.
  • Create and distribute customer invoices.
  • Ongoing communication with clients' other financial partners.
  • Management of finances including paying bills through checks, wire transfers, ACHs. etc.
  • Record account payable, expense receipts and bill payments.
  • Prepare and assemble necessary documents for settlement/invoicing, create tickets, apply to contracts and settle/invoice truck/barge/rail customers and vendors.
  • General bookkeeping duties include reviewing and posting transactional data, account reconciliation, and general ledger balancing.
  • Provides timely and high-quality services and work products that exceed expectations.
  • Post customer payments and other bank deposits
  • Full charge bookkeeping and preparation of compiled financial statements.
  • Reconcile bank, credit cards, and 3rd party payer accounts.
  • Document bookkeeping processes
  • Prepares journal entries, A/P, A/R, bank and general ledger reconciliations, and all functions associated with bookkeeping.

Continuing responsibilities:

  • Responsible for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
  • Prepare monthly GL Account reconciliations and analysis for approval.
  • Support the audit and tax compliance process.
  • Prepare and post journal entries.
  • Special projects and other tasks as assigned by the Controller.
  • Month-end and Year-end close.
  • Support reporting and analysis.

Primary strengths/gifts/talents required:

  • Gas/Oil Industry experience as it relates to inventory and costing.
  • Degree in accounting/finance preferred.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP.
  • Understanding of North Carolina, South Carolina, and Federal tax codes.
  • Persistent, results-oriented, and hits deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with people internally & externally.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Factor (PDI Technologies) software experience a plus
  • Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to support the growth of the company.
  • Ability to understand the complexity of our organization and systems.
