Job Description
THE OPPORTUNITY


Dillard's is looking for an experienced Front End Developer with a focus on mobile applications to join our team. This individual will be highly motivated, technical, and enjoys collaborating in a team environment.


As our ideal candidate, you will be comfortable writing code and maintaining the apps for iOS or Android devices, solving complex user experience problems for the mobile and other web applications we support, while working in a fast paced environment. The candidate will be able to easily step into an agile environment that includes working closely with BAs, QAs, and other developers supporting the projects.


THE TEAM


This position supports users in several different areas of Dillard's. This role will give the opportunity to support mobile applications for our associates and customers. The ideal candidate will also be able to provide support through our web applications for our marketing teams, Store Planning, and eCommerce team to name a few.


What You Will Do


  • Research problems, implement code changes in a timely and accurate manner, including testing the changes, and then follow up to ensure the desired results were achieved.
  • Follow a SDLC of Analysis, Design, Development, Testing, Implementation, and Maintenance
  • Use best practices to design enhancements, updates, and programming changes for both Android and iOS using Ionic and other programming languages
  • Communicate frequently with the team lead and other team members to ensure tasks are being completed accurately and on time and that goals are being met.
  • Work a schedule driven project list as well as handle interruptions to support business objectives in a timely and effective manner.
  • Learn the business environment while working in a collaborative team environment to achieve organizational goals.
  • Develop, maintain, and conduct unit tests for quality assurance validations.
  • Stay updated with upcoming changes on operating system platforms, concepts, technology advances, and best practices for developing mobile apps as well as web applications
  • Maintain a high level of attendance.


THE SKILL SET


  • Must be a highly motivated, effective communicator who is able to work well within a team as well as independently.
  • At least 3 years of mobile/desktop app development experience using Ionic
  • Ability to grasp new ideas quickly and be able to thrive in a dynamic and diverse environment.
  • Experience with Ionic, Angular, JavaScript/Typescript, HTML5, CSS, Capacitor, Xcode, and Firebase
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Ability to read and update native for Android and IOS mobile applications.


WITHIN 1 MONTH,YOU'LL


  • Be paired with a mentor to develop a basic understanding of the Dillard's applications you will be supporting
  • Complete changes, with guidance, to some of the existing Dillard's mobile applications and web applications.


WITHIN 2 MONTH,YOU'LL


  • Have a solid understanding of the code for the mobile applications.
  • Understand how users are using the mobile applications.


WITHIN 3 MONTH,YOU'LL


  • Be able to identify any specific areas of code in need of improvement and communicate those findings with your team and share ideas for addressing those issues.
  • Complete a new feature for an existing application.
  • Continue working with your team to share ideas and ensure milestones for the mobile application changes.
