JOB TITLE: Front Desk Reception/Billing Admin Assistant
REPORTS TO: Practice Office Manager
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:
- Proof of high school graduation or GED
RESPONSIBILITIES/DAILY DUTIES: (include but are not limited to)
Patient Care
- Maintains clean and orderly waiting area, including reading material
- Informs nursing staff of patient arrivals
- Greets patients/families in a polite, prompt, helpful manner and provides any necessary instructions/directions
Telephones/ Patient Data Entry
- Scan and upload patient documents as needed.
- Schedule follow-up appointments
- Obtains insurance information
- Obtains and enters new patient demographics
- Answers incoming telephone calls and transfers to appropriate staff or takes message
- Reviews all forms for accuracy and completion according to office policies prior to accepting
- Updates patient information, as necessary, to maintain accuracy for billing
- Verify insurance information
- Assist billing company with Account receivables.
- Complete worker comp/disability paperwork.
- Advise patients for qualified rewards etc. brilliant distinctions
Pre-Certification of all insurance procedures.
- Reviewing benefits with patients.
- Calling insurance to obtain authorization.
- Sending any clinical information insurance needs.
VERIFY ALL INSURANCE FOR PATIENTS WITH OUT OF NETWORK BENEFITS
Follows Office Opening/Closing Procedures
Prepare for following day
- Confirm all patient appointments
Maintain Schedule for Office
All other administrative and clinical duties as needed by the practice
Adheres to all HIPAA, OSHA, and other federal regulatory guidelines as required by the practice
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
- Working knowledge of personal hygiene and basic health and safety precautions applicable for work in a medical setting. Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with patients and clinic staff
- Working knowledge of general office equipment
- Requires organization and attention to detail
- Understanding of basic medical terminology as pertinent to the practice
- Word processing and computer experience
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Work requires the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions, as well as document and communicate pertinent information
