Our plant in Fairfield, California, currently has an opportunity for a Forklift Operator I (3rd Shift – 10:00pm - 6:30am EST, Mondays - Fridays + Occasional Saturdays). This location is Abbott’s only manufacturing plant that makes its Zone Perfect and Glucerna nutrition bars, with 180 million bars produced annually. THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Forklift Operator I (3rd Shift - 10:00pm - 6:30am EST Mondays - Fridays + Occasional Saturdays) receives, stores, picks, and dispenses raw materials and/or finished products. The role utilizes departmental equipment and systems (Examples: Cambar, AMAPS, MITS, etc.) The individual in this role will use Class I and Class III powered industrial equipment (Examples: Forklifts, drum haulers, electric walk behind lifts, etc.) The role is responsible for line support, receiving, loading, unloading, and case picking, while maintaining compliance to all GMP, safety and quality guidelines.
- Properly utilize RF terminals for receiving and movement of raw materials
- Store, pick or assemble finished product for shipment using the Cambar radio frequency inventory system
- Maintain proper FIFO flow of raw materials
- Deliver materials to production lines in a timely manner
- Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system
- Store, pick, or assemble raw materials in the warehouse, verifying the commodity number, quantity, release status and lot number
- Clean up both raw material and finished goods warehouse areas
- Maintain proper FIFO flow of finished products (may include operation of a forklift truck with a push-pull attachment)
- Stage labels in mobile security carts for production lines
- Coordinate timely accurate flow of finished products to support shipments to distribution centers and other destinations. Responsible for loading and unloading of material with the use of a forklift.
- Maintain accurate records and reconciles inventory errors
- Understand and properly utilizes ship orders, associated warehouse paperwork and RF terminals for shipping/receiving finished product
- Coordinate timely accurate flow of materials from warehouse inventory to work-in-process/production areas
- Check materials against packaging lists, invoices, freight bills or other pertinent documentation to assure conformity and accuracy
PAY & SHIFT:
- This is a 3rd Shift position, that works from 10:00pm - 6:30am EST, Mondays - Fridays + Occasional Saturdays
- The hourly pay for this position is $22.00/hour USD
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1 or more years of forklift experience
- Able to lift and maneuver objects of considerable weight (50 lbs.)
- High School Diploma or GED
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of both raw materials and finished product terminology
- Proficient in the use of Class I and Class III powered industrial equipment (Examples: Forklifts, drum haulers, electric walk behind lifts, etc.)
- Understanding of CLASS A principles and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
- Ability to understand and completes label control portion of work order
- Knowledge of applicable departmental equipment and systems (Examples: Cambar, AMAPS, and MITS or previous history using similar systems)
