Pathology & Anatomical Sciences
- Accept and register human remains in accordance with established operational policies and procedures; obtain and record information pertinent to the identification and classification of the deceased such as observable scars, tattoos and marks, height, weight; collects documents, valuables and other personal property.
- Assist Forensic Technician in day to day operations, including respectful manipulation of decedent bodies, photo documentation, maintenance of logs, and downloading of photographs as directed.
- Prepare remains for examination by pathologist; recognize and preserve evidence which may be relevant to the cause and manner of death; assist pathologist in the performance of autopsies; open body cavities and removes various tissues, organs and systems as directed.
- Prepare remains for transportation by funeral home or other authorities utilizing appropriate methods as directed; perform major and minor restoration for identification purposes; restore remains to suitable appearance for viewing or photographing when necessary; assure proper disposition of by-products and tissues which may contain harmful organisms, prepare a variety of solutions to be used as fixation agents for anatomical specimens; collect and preserve specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Assure that morgue facility is maintained in proper hygienic condition to promote a safe and sanitary working environment; order and maintain inventory of supplies necessary to adequately meet volume needs.
- Testify in judicial proceedings concerning medical examiner cases as required.
- Performs related duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $16.23 - $ 24.50 hourly

40 hours total but times may vary from 6:00am—4:00pm

Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
