Job Description
Summary About the position: This position will be assigned to the Child Development Center at Robins AFB, GA. Department of the Air Force Child and Youth Programs Employee Child Care Discount applicable to this position (see Additional Information). Must be physically able to frequently lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Must be able to continuously stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull and bend for long periods of time Responsibilities The function of the organization where this position is located is in official functional statements. The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of manual tasks in food preparation and food service areas. Washes, peels, slices vegetables and other food items. Prepares salad/sandwich items by adding lettuce, tomatoes, onions and other condiments as prescribed. Slices cooked meats and prepares a variety of sandwiches such as barbecue, hot dogs, cold salads, etc. Prepares items for pizzas. May perform limited cooking duties under supervision. Ensures proper portion control and that condiments and dressings are prepared. Makes coffee, tea and other beverages and refills beverage and ice dispensers as required. Keeps area, counter surface and equipment clean. Washes dishes, utensils, pots, pans, bins, etc. Performs cleaning tasks such as ceilings, exhaust hoods, under and behind kitchen equipment. Clears and cleans dining tables when needed. Sweeps and mops floors as directed. Disposes of food waste and trash. Collects and transfers trash from work area to disposal area. May unload food from delivery trucks and store in appropriate areas in storage room. Signs for change fund and takes customer orders; may operate a cash register and receive payments for food items. Accomplishes close-out procedures in accordance with established procedures/instructions. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: ALL LEVELS Must be a high school graduate, or equivalent; and be able to provide proof (i.e., diploma or equivalent) for verification. AND CY PROGRAM ASSISTANT (TARGET LEVEL): Six months experience equivalent to the CY-02 level working in a group program for children or youth AND Completion of applicable training modules; OR 30 semester hours above the high school level which included at least 15 semester hours in early childhood education, youth development, or related fields. CY PROGRAM ASSISTANT (INTERMEDIATE LEVEL): Six months experience equivalent to the CY-01 level working in a group program for children or youth AND Completion of 3 AF modules (or equivalent) AND AF Orientation Training Program; OR 15 semester hours above the high school level in early childhood education, youth development, or related field. CY PROGRAM ASSISTANT (ENTRY LEVEL): This is an entry level position; no previous experience required. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does allow for education substitution in order to qualify. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying. Additional Information Child Development Program will provide 100% child care fee discount for all CYP direct care staff for the first child enrolled in a full-time or regular part-time DAF CDP. A 25% discount will apply for any additional children of direct care staff. Direct care staff must spend a minimum of 75% of their work schedule in the classroom. Please contact local NAF HR Office for additional information. Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. This includes providing any supporting documents needed for verification. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age at time of hire. This position requires the incumbent to be able to read, speak, and write English. Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must be registered for Selective Service. Direct deposit is required. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check. A probationary period may be required. Pre-employment requirements must be satisfactorily met prior to Entrance on Duty (EOD).
