Food Service Aide - Helen Keller Hospital, Food Service, Full Time, Shift Varies

Overview

Performs a variety of duties in the food service department to prepare foods for use, serves foods and cleans up after meal times. Follows established practices and procedures for patient diet identification and service.

Responsibilities

Sets up and serves patient trays in accordance with established schedule and procedures. Prepares coffee and tea for patient food service line. Prepares, loads, and unloads, and cleans food carts. Assists with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies. Restocks all disposable items, condiments, and diet kits and lines trays with tray covers. Assists the dishwasher with scraping trays and washing dishes ensuring that all dishes and utensils are clean. Utilizes good customer service skills, serving guests and employees courteously and effectively, explaining menu or food items when requested and giving correct portion sizes.

Education: High school diploma or GED preferred. Six months food service experience, preferred.
