Cafeteria Aide - Helen Keller Hospital, Food Service, Full Time, Shift Varies

Overview

Performs a variety of routine duties in the cafeteria related to the preparation and serving of food.

Responsibilities

• Checks menu for all items needed and ensures all foods listed on menu are available.
• Utilizes good customer service skills, serving guests and employees courteously and effectively, explaining menu or food items when requested and giving correct portion sizes.
• Ensures quality control of foods being served, to include taking and recording temperatures and removing foods from the line that are not in compliance with standards.
• Exhibits proper sanitation skills, handling food properly and washing hands as instructed
• Ensures food and food areas are merchandised attractively, garnished and sanitized properly.

Qualifications

Education/Licensure: HS/GED preferred.

Experience: Food service experience in a high volume healthcare setting preferred.

Additional Skills/Abilities:Excellent communication and customer service skills required. Must be knowledgeable of and able to follow the standards of federal, state and regulatory agencies and JCAHO for sanitation, food preparation and handling. Must be able to properly identify patients and maintain confidentiality.
