Food Runners may be utilized at Hard Rock Cafe during high business volume. In addition to delivering guests’ orders, they will assist servers in responding to the requests of our guests. The main responsibility of this position is to deliver food to guests in a friendly, professional and knowledgeable manner.
Basic functions of a Food Runner:
- Stock ice and glassware on the server line.
- Pre-buss tables.
- Refill beverages as needed. Respond to guest inquiries in a courteous and polite manner.
- Deliver food to guests quickly and efficiently.
- Promptly and professionally, handle guest issues and communicates problems and concern to management.
- Deliver condiments and drinks as needed (to include alcoholic beverages).
- Maintain a clean and organized server alley and expo area.
- Assist and communicate clearly with the kitchen staff and front of the house staff.
- Sweep the floor.
- Clean and reset dirty tables.

Job Requirements include:
- Demonstrate a high level of organization, attention-to-detail and a sense-of-urgency.
- Display a positive and outwardly friendly attitude toward guests and co-workers.
- Remain calm in a hectic, fast-paced atmosphere.
- Ability to make repeating movements of the arms, hands, and wrists.
- Ability to express or exchange ideas verbally and perceive sound by ear.
- Ability to move throughout the corporate office and cafes during visits (standing, walking, kneeling, bending) for extended periods of time.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
- Manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and ability to work with hand above shoulders.
- Ability to occasionally, regularly, frequently move objects (lift, push, pull, balance, carry) up to 10 pounds.
- Ability to tolerate exposure to heat, cold, chemicals, and loud/noisy environment.
- Ability to turn or twist body parts in a circular motion.
- Ability to travel via auto or airplane for long periods of time.
- Following all uniform guidelines.
- Maintaining HRC’s 5 core Values and Mission Statement.
- This Cafe may cross-train the Servers and the Bussers
- Practicing all general safety & sanitation standards.
- Maintaining a well-groomed appearance (“having a plan”).
- Recycling products, where possible.
