JOB SUMMARY:
Prepares line setups, displays, and some menu items. Operates cash register. Cleans tables, Dining Room equipment, and utensils.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
1. Cleans and restocks Dining Room tables.
2. Cleans and sanitizes food stations and equipment; completes daily sanitation assignments.
3. Keeps work area clean and organized.
4. Operates cash register during meal periods and bake sales; collects money; dispenses change.
5. Counts receipts and prepares cash deposits; assures cash register variances are within standards.
6. Sets up and garnishes food, non-food, and beverage lines.
7. Answers questions pertaining to food, ingredients, and diet restrictions.
8. Prepares menu boards before meals.
9. Participates in coordinating activities and menus for special event days.
10. Assures assigned Dining Room areas are maintained, replenished, and backed up throughout meal service.
11. Assures assigned Dining Room areas are ready for service to begin on time.
12. Complies with regulatory requirements; maintains established departmental policies and procedures, including those pertaining to infection control, quality assurance, and safety.
13. Sets up display plates, display menu board, and point of sales cards for items on daily menus.
14. Strives to achieve excellence of service as described in the CARE Manual.
15. Responds to the following Shore Health System codes: Code Red (in the immediate area), Code Pink (when called), Code D (when called).
16. Responsible for honest behavior in all matters. To the best of the employee’s knowledge and understanding, complies with all Federal and State laws and regulations.
17. Maintains the privacy and security of all confidential and protected health information. Uses and discloses only that information which is necessary to perform the function of the job.
18. Performs related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Light to moderate lifting.
- Exposed to heat, wetness, fumes, solutions, and other similar elements. Subject to cuts, burns, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to follow instructions operates cash register, make change, and interpret price lists and recipes.
- Food service/preparation, customer service or related experience/equivalent training preferred.
