Job Summary:

The overall purpose of the Part-Time Floor Technician position is to perform scheduled floor care tasks as may be assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor. This position may also mop, sweep, dust, wash windows, shampoo and vacuum carpets, arrange furniture, etc. and generally clean furniture, equipment, fixtures and hardware.

Qualifications:

• Experience in institutional housekeeping is helpful.
• Experience in Floor Care.
• Experience in the use of floor-care equipment is helpful.
• Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.

Essential Functions:

• Utilizes proper chemicals and equipment.
• Identifies and corrects safety hazards and abides by safety rules.
• Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.
• Has reviewed Cantex Continuing Care Network Policy and Procedures for Abuse Prevention and knows the employees responsibility to enforce it.
• Requests needed supplies and equipment from Supervisor.
• Buffs and waxes floors, strips and waxes floors, top scrubs and waxes floors.
• Extracts and vacuums carpets as directed by Supervisor.
• Attends weekly in-services, understands, and complies with Patient Care Management Systems.
• Responsible for assuring patient/resident safety.
• Reports repair needs to Supervisor or maintenance department as appropriate.
• Maintains all floor surfaces.
