Environmental Floor Tech Jobs

As an environmental services technician at Children’s Health, you will play an essential role in helping make life better for children by ensuring our patient-care environment is safe, hygienic and pleasant. You will be responsible for the cleaning of assigned area to meet the established cleanliness and infection control standards. This position starts at $20 an hour. You will be responsible all types of floor care and maintenance throughout the facility, including hard surfaces and carpeting. Complete special cleaning projects such as carpet cleaning / shampooing, carpet extraction, floor finish removal (Buff and Strip) and application, wall washing and other similar duties such as cleaning stairwell and elevators and hanging of curtains . You will gather and dispose of waste; address cleanliness issues observed anywhere in the hospital and help clean up emergency spills. You will have to follow all infection prevention practices (i.e. proper cleaning process, hand hygiene, standard and isolation precautions where and if required and proper use of personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Remove waste and transport to appropriate disposal area while identifying proper waste stream (i.e. regulated medical, recycle, solid, and hazardous).
Experience Required: At least one year with a minimum of 6 months of floor tech experience Preferred: Ability to communicate effectively orally or in writing openly and considerately with team members reciprocate in kind demeanor and effective use of computers and/or movable devices
Education
Preferred: High school diploma or GED
Licenses and certifications (Preferred) Completion of Certified Health Care Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) training Completion of Certified Surgical Cleaning Technician (CSCT) training and The Association for the Health Care Environment (AHE)
