Position: Financial Technology Partners is seeking an Equity Research Associate, to be based in our Miami, FL office.

Role Description: FT Partners recently formed Equity Research Department just launched a highly differentiated research product and is in search of an additional Equity Research Associate to provide research support for our Senior Research Analysts, while also helping to manage a team of junior Analysts. The successful candidate will work directly with our Senior Analysts on all aspects of the research process including building and maintaining models, performing fundamental analysis, writing research reports and creating presentations, and interacting with sales, corporate management, and clients. The job offers excellent exposure to the FinTech sector, the ability to work directly with highly respected Senior Analysts, and the opportunity for an attractive career path at a very successful and fast-growing investment bank.


Responsibilities


  • Communicate with internal sales force, clients and company management teams
  • Eager to help train, mentor, and manage a small team of junior Research Analysts
  • Contribute to the generation of investment ideas
  • Create presentation materials
  • Develop and maintain financial models
  • Build/possess strong industry knowledge of the FinTech industry
  • Write reports / notes on companies under coverage and key industry topics
  • Pass/have passed FINRA mandated license exams including SIE, Series 7, 63, 86, 87
  • Interpret data and perform analysis on market, economic and technology trends


General Qualifications


  • Comfortable taking initiative and being resourceful / entrepreneurial
  • 1-3 years experience in equity research, investment banking, and/or the FinTech industry is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree with a strong academic track record
  • Strong interest in the FinTech sector
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and work with numerous teams
  • Must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccination by date of hire to be considered
  • Working knowledge of accounting, finance, and securities valuation
  • Strong team orientation
  • U.S. work authorization required, FT Partners will not sponsor applicants for work visas at application or in the future
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
