  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal financial controls and procedures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  • Lead and manage a Request for Proposal (RFP) process to select the best accounting software/ERP solution for the company, evaluating and implementing the chosen system to streamline and automate financial operations.
  • Collaborate closely with the Director of Financial Reporting to provide accurate and timely financial information and support the preparation of financial statements and reports.
Requirements
  • Experience with workflow and process automation, or a willingness to embrace technology to drive efficiency and scalability.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in accounting within the oil and gas industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; a CPA or equivalent professional certification is strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in financial management software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Experience with financial reporting in a public company setting or familiarity with SEC reporting requirements is a plus.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills, with a focus on developing and motivating team members.
  • Thorough knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Experience in leading and managing RFP processes and implementing accounting software/ERP solutions is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of the oil and gas industry's accounting principles, including joint venture accounting, revenue recognition, and cost allocations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present financial information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
