Job Description

Elevate Drilling and Blasting LLC seeks a Financial Controller with strong leadership and interpersonal abilities to oversee our small business financial operations. The ideal candidate will assist with daily accounting tasks, perform financial planning, optimize financial processes, prepare financial reports, and work collaboratively with the company’s ownership. As Financial Controller, the candidate should demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of financial management principles and have extensive experience in a similar role. We are seeking someone whose expertise translates into optimized financial operations and increased profitability.


Job Duties

  • Process all accounts payable (vendor bills, invoice approval, expense tracking) and accounts receivable (customer invoicing, debt collection).
  • Assist with human resource responsibilities and other duties as assigned.
  • Guide financial decisions by developing and monitoring policies and procedures.
  • Calculate, assign, and track job-related costs including labor, materials, and overhead.
  • Coordinate and record investments and maintain fixed asset records.
  • Complete certified payroll reporting as needed for federally funded construction projects.
  • Perform internal audits and financial risk assessments, as well as facilitate intervention strategies.
  • Set up a paperless office system including organized storage of all vendor, job-related, and accounting correspondence.
  • Complete construction accounting including percent complete, cost to complete, over/under billing, billing and pay applications.
  • Document processes and ensure compliance with financial and accounting regulations.
  • Process weekly employee payroll and 401k administration.
  • Oversee business insurance plans including general and excess liability, commercial auto, inland marine, workers compensation, employee health plans and others, working collaboratively with the employer and broker agency.
  • Support external audits and recommend compliance policies and procedures as needed.
  • Analyze and interpret balance sheets, income statements, cash flow, and liabilities.
  • Monitor timely closing processes of billing, invoicing, expenses, reimbursements, and payroll administration.
  • Evaluate and enhance financial controls and tax return procedures.
  • Maximize returns on excess cash balances and improve closing and reporting cycles.
  • Prepare reports, as well as review journal entries and account reconciliation.


Qualifications/Requirements

-Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a similar field.

-Experience in the construction industry and percentage of completion basis of accounting is preferred.

-A minimum of five years' experience as a financial administrator, or similar.

-Advanced competency in financial management and accounting software.QuickBooks experience is preferred.

-In-depth knowledge of accounting standards, with extensive experience in general ledger accounting.

-Superb organizational and time management abilities.

-Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
