Job Description
POSITION PURPOSE: Process accounts receivable claims and invoices along with other assistance to the Vice President of Financial Services in order to assure timely payment. NATURE & SCOPE: The Financial Assistant reports to the Vice President of Financial Services, who reports to the President. The Financial Assistant is responsible for the overall claims submission process. This position requires organization, communication, management of multiple priorities, and meeting several deadlines per week. The Financial Assistant provides assistance to the Vice President of Financial Services as needed. The position requires flexibility, capability of meeting deadlines, organization, and strong communication skills. It requires the ability to be employed full time. This is a non-exempt position. This position will be part time as they are being trained in working and transition to full time as they learn everything. It is M-F - they may choose to work some weekend hours. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & Essential Functions
  • Other jobs as assigned QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Responsible for monthly statement for cost of care, room and board and cable
  • Ability to read, write and speak the English Language.
  • Responsible for checking status on submitted claims to ensure accurate processing of claims
  • Ability to travel between sites and if driving, holds a valid license and maintains a safe driving record
  • Education background and/or employment experience in bookkeeping procedures.
  • Ability to be employed full time.
  • High School Diploma or equivalency.
  • Responsible for monthly renewals to county agencies and follow up as needed
  • Responsible for applying for social security benefits, GRH etc. when becoming a representative payee for a new admission
  • Ability to bend, stoop and reach.
  • Responsible for monthly social security representative payee accounting
  • Responsible for recording accurate information on spreadsheets for accounts receivable, leave days, services during the day and limit reports
  • Communicates effectively and displays positive, supportive and cooperative conduct
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Adheres to all Phoenix Residence, Inc. policies and procedures
  • Has knowledge of state and county policies and regulations on billing procedures
  • Responsible for claims submission, claim resolution and follow-up activities
  • Reviews monthly financial information for residents and records information on spreadsheet
  • Responsible to train new supervisors on the financial process and occupancy reports
  • Responsible to follow up with varies agencies with regards to payments and issues
  • Maintains all accounts receivable files which includes scanning to appropriate files
  • Experience with computer systems preferred.
