Macawber Engineering, Inc., a small but well-regarded, international manufacturer with 45 years in business, is looking for a traveling Field Service Technician to be part of a team that builds custom-engineered pneumatic conveying systems and other industrial equipment.

We offer an attractive compensation package. You will start with 3 weeks of PTO for the first year, increasing to 5 weeks after 10 years.
The company currently pays 90% of your health insurance cost, contributes towards your 401k as well as rewards with an annual bonus.
You will be required to work a hybrid and flexible schedule variating between office and travel.
Traveling is required for approximately 30% of the time. Travel locations are mostly within the US but international travel may be required. Most travel takes place in 3-5 consecutive days driving or flying to the customer location. Some travel takes place during weekends.
When not travelling you will following our normal working schedule of 4x9hrs / 1x4hrs (Friday).
Position includes (but not limited to):
Start-up and service of pneumatic conveying systems and ancillary equipment in the field.
Inspects installations prior to start-up, consults customers on questions concerning system installation and start-up protocol, and provides hands-on service and troubleshooting support on machinery in the field.
Troubleshoots controls instrumentation, panel wiring and electro-mechanical installation. Edits PLC and HMI programs.
Provides technical after sales support to existing customers remotely either via phone or other technology
Schedules visits with customers.
Generates service reports pointing out unresolved issues.
Tests equipment and materials and participates in control panel building.
Other duties as assigned by employer.
Qualifications
Technical knowledge – fundamentals of basic electrical, controls, mechanics and mathematics.
Min 3 years of experience in industrial maintenance, engineering technology or similar.
Intermediate to advanced skills of PLCs, HMIs, control systems/instrumentation and control panel wiring.
Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings.
Ability to work independently, troubleshoot problems and thrive in a customer-focused environment.
Excellent communication skills and reporting writing capabilities.
You will be industrious, detailed, and result-oriented.

One location/travelling
Must be able to lift 50 lb.
