Job Description

US Citizen or Green Card ONLY and must live in the Detroit Area

Up to 28-35 per hour DOE this job will have a lot of overtime


Job Summary:


- Responsible for installing, starting up, and providing training and emergency service for automotive testing equipment.

- Requires local travel and expertise in mechanical, electrical, and pneumatics, with experience in troubleshooting electrical and electronic systems.



Job Specifications:


- Preferably holds a BSCE or BSEE degree with a strong mechanical background.

- Possesses a good working knowledge of machinery or is willing to learn the necessary skills to become a proficient Field Service Engineer.

- One to two years of field experience is preferred.

- Self-motivated individual who understands the value of teamwork and can perform effectively under pressure.



Preferred Skills and Experience:


- Knowledge of PLCs and ability to interpret ladder logic.

- Familiarity with electronic and computer hardware functionality and proficiency in troubleshooting equipment at the board level.

- Experience in closed-loop system tuning, identifying system characteristics and limitations is a plus.



Primary Responsibilities:


- Understanding electronic and computer hardware systems to troubleshoot equipment and provide guidance to others.

- Installing and starting up automotive testing equipment.

- Conducting training presentations.

- Performing preventative maintenance machine inspections.

- Testing machinery on the plant floor before shipment.

- Conducting final acceptance testing at customer sites.

- Supervising external labor contractors for turnkey installations.

- Assisting with machine assembly work as required.

- Approximately 20% travel required, in addition to travel within the Metro Detroit area.



Job Type: Full-time - pay is 28-35/hr DOE and there will be a lot of overtime on this role.
