Heavy Equipment Mechanic - Elko, NV

As a heavy equipment mechanic, you’ll provide essential on-site support for our customers by helping troubleshoot, repair and maintain the heavy equipment they rely on to stay productive. We’re looking for a conscientious, thorough and detail-oriented individual with technical know-how who takes pride in doing quality work. What You’ll Do

In this position, you’ll travel to customer locations to perform on-site service and repairs. A vehicle will be provided, and you’ll own and maintain the required personal tools. Responsibilities include:

  • Performing equipment diagnostics, maintenance and repairs
  • Making adjustments and setting machines for optimal performance
  • Working safely and adhering to all applicable policies, procedures and standards
  • Planning and tracking of repair jobs
  • Completing detailed service reporting for Epiroc and customers
  • Providing technical support and troubleshooting on site
  • Maintaining good customer relations and communicating courteously and effectively


What You’ll Need

The ideal candidate for this position is precise and professional, with relevant heavy equipment mechanic experience. We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Drive, determination, self-discipline
  • Specialized expertise, ingenuity, and takes pride in solving technical problems
  • Accountability and dedication to maintaining standards of quality and accuracy
  • Values integrity and engenders trust
  • Sense of urgency and the ability to make quick, authoritative decisions in a fast-paced work environment


Successful Candidates must also

  • Read and understand schematics, including knowledge of hydraulics, electronics, pneumatics, mechanical and electrical systems, and diesel engine systems
  • Have a minimum of a certificate of completion from a technical or trade school, three years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Have prior underground experience
  • Reside in the Elko, NV area (we may assist with relocation from anywhere in the U.S.)
  • Be willing to travel to remote locations as needed
  • Maintain (or agree to complete training for) the required U.S. Department of Labor Mine Safety and Health Administration training certificates
  • Have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record

Pay Range

$26 – $40 per hour

This is an hourly paid position with overtime eligibility. Compensation is determined based on job-related factors, such as experience, education, geographic location and other criteria.
