#LI-DP1
A resume helps you stand out to hiring managers and recruiters; your resume communicates your experience and your brand. While it is not required, we encourage you to include an up-to-date resume along with a completed job application to give you the best opportunity to be considered. A complete resume helps us to better understand your unique background, relevant experiences, and passions. We look forward to learning about you.
A Day in the Life of a Field Engineering Intern

As a Field Engineering Intern, you will work alongside MW&S (Maintenance of Way and Structures) field crews, officers, and staff on a variety of projects. Interns are placed in one of three settings: line maintenance, program maintenance, or bridges and structures. Primary duties include assisting MW&S crews and officers with performing track inspections and maintenance on line of road and yard locations. Interns will learn train and track dynamics, track inspection, basic railroad construction, maintenance operations, management skills, and much more.

Interested applicants must have a desire to work hands-on and in a field-oriented position. The goal of our internship program is to expose students to the day-to-day operations in our Engineering Department and to help determine if a field operations railroad career is a good fit for you.

What makes a successful candidate?
