EnterSource is a growing and thriving Fiber-To-The-Home (FTTH) installation and service company, but more than that, we are a team of talented and bright “A” players that are winning together and we are looking to add more “A” players to our team to join us in our success. We are looking for Fiber Drop Installation Professionals to perform drop construction services including but not limited to; underground and overhead drop installations, splicing, stick, pneumatic and directional drill boring, trenching, operating a mini skid steer, plowing, digging, gaffing along with ladder work outside of homes and businesses.

Skillset-Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

A: Splicing

  • Splice single drop fiber cables in all environments (aerial, buried, underground, and buildings).
  • Ability to fusion or mechanical splice SM or MM fiber optic cables, including terminating various types of fiber optic connectors (ST, SC, LC) for homes and businesses.
  • Safely and efficiently splice cables in residential and commercial environments.
  • Performs skilled duties related to copper and fiber splicing, and preventive cable maintenance.
  • Installation and dressing of fiber optic cables.
  • Prep and install both aerial and underground splice enclosures along with a variety of other closures common to the splicing and termination of fiber optic cables.

B: Underground Drop

  • Load reel trailers with strand, fiber or cable as required.
  • Operate various trenching equipment such as a mini skid steer or walk beside trencher.
  • Locate existing buried copper and fiber facilities and comply with 811 requirements (OneCall) before any digging projects, properly identifying other utility flags and safely working around other utilities.
  • Safely and efficiently install underground cables in residential and commercial environments.
  • Use best practices for installing underground wiring so as not to violate local building codes.
  • Bury cable and conduit systems, by operating blowing, plowing, digging, boring, and trenching equipment and pulling fiber and cable through conduit systems.

C: Overhead Drop

  • Load reel trailers with strand, fiber or cable as required.
  • Use best practices for installing underground wiring so as not to violate local codes and regulations or customer specs.
  • Pull fiber and cable through conduit systems.
  • Safely and efficiently install overhead cables in residential and commercial environments.
  • Hang overhead cable or strand using various methods including but not limited to a ladder, bucket truck, or gaffs.
Requirements:
  • Aptitude to read and interpret fiber records, staking sheets, specification sheets, and circuit diagrams, and splice fiber as directed.
  • Thorough understanding of hand tools and power tools.
  • Able to meet physical requirements: climb ladders, work in confined spaces and/or various heights, lift and/or move up to 50 lbs., squat, kneel, bend, crawl, and stand for long periods of time.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • General knowledge of residential and commercial construction methods.
  • Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets the company’s minimum safety standards.
  • In-depth understanding of technology-based services, products, and networking.
  • Proficient in Internet-related applications such as email and web browsers.
  • Self-starter with a positive attitude and willingness to work.
  • Enjoy working outdoors in all types of weather.

Schedule:

  • Regularly scheduled to work 40 hours a week.
