Overview:
The Program in Developmental Neuroscience and Developmental Neurogenetics at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join a translational research project, led by Dr. Pat Levitt, investigating the molecular mechanisms that regulate circuit formation and cognitive maturation. Methodologies include single cell and bulk transcriptomics, transcriptional regulation assays, social, emotional and cognitive behavioral assays, virus-based developmental connectomics, chemo- and optogenetic control of circuit activity. The postdoctoral fellow will participate in all levels of the research investigation, including experiment planning, data collection, data processing, established and innovative data analyses, and manuscript and abstract preparation. Professional development activities, including individual development plans, assistance with fellowship application, attending a variety of scientific meetings for relationship building, science communication skills and opportunities for academic growth are provided by the laboratory and institution.

Candidates are expected to have excellent interpersonal skills. Compensation is highly competitive for the southern California region.
Qualified applicants will have a Ph.D. in neuroscience or a related field.

This position is open for an immediate start date, with a minimum 2-year commitment. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.

Pay Scale Information: USD $29,640.00 - USD $80,184.00
