Job Purpose

Pay Rate: $ 51.37
Without guidance or supervision, complete the following tasks: Maintenance of Valves, HVAC
Systems, Mechanical Alignment, Property/Building Structure Maintenance, Mechanical
Alignment, Pumps, Engines, Compressors, Power Driven Valve Actuators.

Job Purpose

In addition to the current duties of an FCM Mechanic, perform additional duties, as follows but are not limited to:
  • Perform effective monitoring of equipment performance.
  • Maintain and stay current with SOP requirements and compliance.
  • Ensure timely completion and close out of all p/m’s and work orders in your area of responsibility.
  • Scheduling and coordinating services with outside vendors and contractors and ensure successful
completion of task.
  • Respond to trouble calls quickly and safely to minimize downtime.
  • Support and assist with shutdown planning and execution.
  • Overtime required as needed, including holidays, weekends and after business hrs.
  • Must be able to work at various heights and limited crawl spaces.
  • Professionally interact with clients within sites.
  • Daily rounds of interior and exterior of each building.
  • Assist with event setups and takedowns.
  • Monitor contractors during projects to ensure all National Grid safety protocols are in place and
followed.
  • Manage National Grid cooling tower SharePoint and Nalco Water Watch website.
  • Schedule seasonal turn on and shutdowns of cooling towers
  • Operate and maintain Chillers, Boilers, Split Units, Plumbing, Flushometers, etc.
  • Assist with scheduled electrical shutdowns.

Qualifications

Required Education, Experience and Skills
  • Team Player
  • Must observe and comply with all standard safety codes and practices.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to be successful in a fast paced and changing
environment.
  • New York State driver license.
