Essential Duties and Responsibilities


Multidisciplinary role responsible for ensuring families have access to relevant services providing service navigation, individual customized support based on need, and group facilitation services through agency and evidence-based models. This is a part-time role (20 hours).


  • Provides advocacy and assistance to parents and caregivers in negotiating barriers that get in the way of them supporting the children in their home (financial, housing, food security, transportation, schools, health care etc.)
  • Participate as a team member and provide input into permanency planning and needed services for children served.
  • Monitor client engagement in services, communicates gaps and methods for reengagement with program coordinator.
  • Supervise and observe visitation to ensure safe and nurturing interactions.
  • Complete documentation timely, accurately, and consistently – progress notes for each parent contact, monthly notes documenting progress ongoing. Utilize online forms and data system to conduct documentation. Manages and completes documentation according to agency, contractual agreements, and COA standards.
  • Provide parenting time (visitation) on-site, in community, in-home or in other settings as dictated by the case plan.
  • Educates and coaches parents on safety and risk awareness, increasing natural supports and co-parenting, and improving parenting skills.
  • Provide intervention techniques and feedback to participating families.
  • Identify specialized needs for parents and caregivers and connect them with appropriate resources and supportive services within the BAPC service continuum or community.
  • Facilitates learning and support groups for parents, caregivers and children and maintains fidelity to the designated models.
  • Maintain 50% of work hours in direct contact with parents and caregivers participating in the program and assigned to caseload.
  • Coach parenting skills based on promising practices and evidence-based models.
  • Performs all work with trauma informed care, and safety planning procedures.
  • Prepare and submit objective summaries to JFS and the court based on observation of the child, family and visits.
  • Maintains regular contact with stakeholders involved in client caseload to ensure communication about program participation, and progress to goals to best support client’s success.
  • Promotes parent and family engagement utilizing creative outreach and relationship building techniques.
  • Complete outcomes evaluations with parents and caregivers assigned at stated intervals.
  • Conducts assessments with outcome tools to understand needs and support identifying and achieving goals.


This role is office, and community-based and requires frequent travel throughout the community to support program recruitment, events, and outreach. Office responsibilities may be a mix of hybrid (in-person, online). Working outside of standard office hours, including evenings and weekends, is also required.


Education and/or Work Experience Requirements


  • Solid organizational and collaborative skills, with the ability to work independently and have a method to maintain organization.
  • Outstanding facilitation skills, with the ability to engage and train diverse audiences.
  • Strong coaching ability with the capability to customize a developed program to meet the needs of varying customers.
  • Valid driver’s license; must maintain agency required auto insurance of $100,000 per person, $300,000 per accident, and $100,000 property damage.
  • 3+ years related work experience supporting services for kids and families.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Early Childhood Education, Child & Family Studies, Criminal Justice or related Human Services area preferred.
  • Knowledge of peer-to-peer support and/or mentoring.
  • Knowledge of case management, and mental health billing.
  • Willingness to maintain a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend hours
