The Facilities Manager / Chief Engineer role at the Embarcadero Resort & Marina in Newport, Oregon is a full-time, salaried-exempt position.This position isresponsible for directing, supporting, and organizing the maintenance operations for the Embarcadero common areas, condominiums, rentals, marina, and the maintenance staff. This manager must exhibit and maintain the highest professional ethics, confidentiality and be a catalyst in promoting the culture of the Embarcadero to all personnel.

Responsibilities:

·Hiring, training, coaching, mentoring and ensuring accountability of all team members.

·Very hands-on position working with maintenance technicians and assigns projects to his/her staff as well as himself/herself.

·Ensures fulfillment of preventative maintenance programs including all equipment, heating and air, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, etc., including all guest rooms, public areas, and the marina.

·Inspects all areas of resort for needed maintenance on a regular schedule.

·Provides direction to maintenance staff on proper repairs / maintenance and inspects work to ensure quality and thoroughness of work performed. Reviews and corrects any deficiencies with maintenance team.

·Uses asset / maintenance software (Quore) to plan, schedule and track all work orders, repairs, maintenance, capital projects and inspections.

·Prioritizes and completes work orders in a timely manner. Monitors and corrects all deficiencies.

·Oversees management and operation of marina including all compliance issues with Marina Manager.

·Identifies dock maintenance, dock finger maintenance, and enforces marina rules and regulations with assistance from Marina Manager.

·Ensures swimming pool and spa maintenance duties meet health department regulations.

·Maintains all building exteriors and common area interiors.

·Responsible for hands-on service duties including the oversight and requirements of boats entering the marina.

·Ensures all work is performed in a safe and efficient manner and that all applicable health and safety regulations are followed.

·Creates and maintains an environment that provides an exceptional guest and owner experience.

·Responsible for adhering to maintenance operations budgets while providing effective maintenance of the Embarcadero Resort & Marina property.

·Responsible for adhering to the Major Maintenance Reserve and working with the Director of Operations to maintain the Reserve while planning and executing work (usually through outside contractors).

·Assists other departments in fulfilling guest requests and resolving guest concerns.

·Educates hotel personnel on emergency procedures and safety precautions.

·Holds weekly maintenance and marina department meetings for open communication.

·Must have excellent carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and structural experience.

·Some nights and weekend work will be expected depending on marina and hotel activity.

·Performs other duties as assigned.

·Periodically serve as Manager on Duty

·Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

·Vendor contract experience needed

·Working in a coastal environment very beneficial with Marina experience

·HVAC certified preferred

·Personally skilled at carpentry, plumbing, and electrical basics

·Business acumen

·Basic math skills

·Adept at using maintenance / asset software (Quore experience is a plus)

·Must be comfortable using Microsoft Office

·Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing

·Strong leadership skills

·Skilled at development of direct reports and others

·Proven strong decision-making ability

·Excellent time management and attention to detail

·Must respect and honor confidentiality as well as have integrity and be trustworthy

·Ability to interact positively with supervisor, management, co-workers, guests, owners and public with skills for excellent customer service

·Conflict management skills/training/experience helpful

·Ability to produce work in a timely manner which is accurate, complete and of high quality

·Ability to come to work regularly and on time

Salary Range:
