Your Impact:

Hourly Rate: $34.23

Responsibilities:
  • Will provide best practices training/direction to personnel regarding maintenance and repairs of related equipment, as necessary
  • Lubricates, maintains, and cleans equipment
  • Perform water chemistry sampling/testing as necessary
  • Responds to after-hour emergencies within contract allotted time frame
  • Assists the plant personnel in the development, and performance of equipment PM’s, reliability metrics, work plans, and other RCM tasks
  • Operation and maintenance of Boilers, heating furnaces, Steam/Condensate distribution systems, pressure regulator valves and associated equipment
  • Requires applicant to become a Safety Operator, qualified Steam Plant operator, fuel delivery truck operator and Nitrogen delivery truck operator
  • Starts and stops equipment and builds up specified pressure in equipment/systems, adjusts or sets controls to maintain continuous supply of utilities to facilities
  • Performs repairs, troubleshoots and makes adjustments to machinery and equipment as required
  • Observes operational temperature and pressure gauges and adjusts controls accordingly
  • Must show an ability to provide leadership and training during repair efforts that drive reliability by demonstrating good mechanical practices and judgment
Here’s What You’ll Need:

U. S. citizenship required. Four to Five years’ experience in operation, service and repair of high-pressure steam production/distribution and associated equipment.

The Facilities Maintenance Mechanic must be able to interpret drawings, trend graphs, services manuals, and the reading of all required precision instruments, and must be knowledgeable of component OEM repair methods and STDs. Interfaces with internal and external customers to satisfy utility demands. Training in designated field, craft or trade documented by certificate/diploma. NAC clearance required. Applicant must possess a valid license for operating private vehicles. Commercial Driver License is a plus. Must be able to effectively communicate with others.

The Facilities Maintenance Mechanic must successfully pass and obtain one of the following within the first year of employment:
  • American Society of Power Engineers (ASOPE) Class III license
  • National Institute for the Uniform Licensing of Power Class V license
Essential Functions:
Work Environment
Test environment-May be exposed to areas of high noise levels, hazardous propellants, explosives, chemicals and industrial facilities (90%)
Travel between various facilities and during test operations required and may bring exposure to loud noise and potentially hazardous equipment operations (10%)

Physical Requirements:
Visual and physical (hands on) contact of test related systems, hardware and articles.
Must be able to walk, stand, bend, twist and sit for extended periods as well as climb various heights, crawl in confined spaces, and lift up to 35 lbs (100%). Ability to distinguish basic colors (10%). Corrected vision and hearing at all times (100%).


Equipment and Machines:
Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, fax, etc..) with knowledge of the Internet, and Outlook email. Safety and personal protective equipment (50%)

Attendance:
Regular attendance mandatory (100%).
Occasional overtime/work outside normal schedule may be required (<20%).

Other Essential Functions:
U. S. citizenship is required. Valid driver's license is required. Must be able to work in a team atmosphere. Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others. Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance as required. Maintenance employees will exercise diligence when developing a Safe Plan of Action (SPA) for each task performed. Your SPA is a Company provided tool to be used for the prevention of incidents, accidents and injuries; as such, it is the most important tool that you are required to use.
