Responsibilities:
  • Attends all necessary meetings and training as required by management.
  • Performs necessary housekeeping activities, this includes, but is not limited to, the picking up of all debris that results from production activities, this includes proper storage of all materials and equipment when they are not in use as well as all other materials which may be offensive or hazardous.
  • Demonstrates flexibility in work hours to include availability for overtime hours as required by management.
  • Provides care and security for all company resources.
  • Assists in the handling, packing, loading, securing and unloading of signs and materials to ensure proper procedures are observed.
  • Makes periodic deliveries of signs and other materials to various locations.
  • Fabricates and/or assembles signs, frames, structures, cabinets related to building of signs.
  • Operates tools necessary to complete projects to include, but not limited to pneumatic or electric saws, drills, and presses.
  • Completes all necessary reports such as, but not limited to, completion slips, material listing forms, timecards, documents and file records such as work orders, requisition forms, accident report forms, and personal expenditure receipts.
Qualifications:
  • Adequate math skills as they relate to the use of various measuring devices such as tape measures, squares, etc.
  • Must have basic mechanical/construction knowledge concerning metals, wood, plastic, blueprints and fasteners as well as working knowledge of a welding and cutting torch, metal brakes, press shears and various power tools as they apply to fabrication.
  • Proficient with standard measurements.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Due to the effects of welding or burning, this will add to the operating temperature range and this could vary greatly.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly be exposed to heights of up to approximately 25 feet.
  • Extreme weather conditions, ranging from summer heat to winter cold.
  • In the course of job activity, it may be necessary to push/pull, climb, stoop, kneel, stand or crawl when it is necessary to load or unload pipe, signs or other materials, or when involved in the manufacture and fabrication of various signs and structures.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
  • The employee must regularly be lifting and manipulating of heavy objects up to approximately 80+ pounds. It may be necessary to lift objects that are in excess of 80 pounds. In this event, it may be necessary to use not only physical power but to utilize other lifting equipment such as but not limited to, a dolly, forklift or crane.
