Process Engineer – Blown Film Extrusion

Global plastics packaging material company needs a process engineer familiar with the blown film extrusion process. The company makes plastic film for packaging, bagging, wrapping, etc. Basically, the process includes melting bead form polymer resin in an extruder, then extruding through a die head that allows air to be injected into the die center to inflate the polymer, then making rolls of this material. They want someone who has in-depth knowledge of this process.

The company, located in Missouri, near St. Louis, is a worldwide company known for high quality materials used in many applications including shrink wrap, plastic bags, medical and food grade packaging, etc. As a Process Engineer, you will:

• Work with production and maintenance people to troubleshoot problems and develop corrective actions.
• Improve ongoing processes, quality, production efficiency, reduce material waste.
• Maintain safety while optimizing manufacturing processes and operations.
• Design and maintain SOP condition system to ensure manufacturing consistency. This includes documentation of procedures, and modifications, as new issues arise.
• Work with automated W&H manufacturing machinery, used for making flexible multilayer packaging materials.

REQUIREMENTS

• Looking for at least 2-3 years’ experience.
• Knowledge about flexible packaging products, including desired properties and quality requirements.
• Relocation assistance is available.
• MOST IMPORTANT: Must have experience with blown film extrusion process engineering and manufacturing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Can be in Packaging Engineering, Plastics, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, etc.
• WILL CONSIDER H1-B VISA SPONSORSHIP.
