Job Description

Summary

Established in 2019, The Patriot Art Foundation works with VA Hospitals in developing online classes in drawing and painting. This new role of Executive Director will provide leadership and direction for the Foundation. This role is part time and geographical location is flexible.


Key Responsibilities

Board Management

Recruits and orients new board members

Sets an annual fundraising strategy to include specific goals

People Management

Provides direction and guidance to a Program Administrator, artists and other volunteers

Formulates and updates program goals and objectives

Monitors online education, VA classes, podcasts, hands-on classes, special events, exhibits, public education, website design and social media

Evaluates programming and recommends updates, changes, improvements

Financial Management

Drafts annual budget for approval by the Board

Manages financial statements, cash flow

Seeks and secures necessary funds through events, government grants

Relationship Management

Explores and develops joint programs with the VA and other Federal agencies

Generates outside interest in the Foundation

Identifies marketing opportunities


Required Work Experience and Background

A degree and 5+ years of work experience.

Prior experience in a management/leadership role; ability to lead, motivate and manage others.

Proven ability to network effectively and build good relationships.

Demonstrated knowledge of fundraising and development work.

Understanding of finance and related performance standards.

Able to travel for business four/five times per year.



The ideal candidate will have an interest in, a passion for, or general knowledge of the military and/or the world of art. References are required. Salary commensurate with experience.
