Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:This position is responsible for the coordination and management of administrative work of internal and/or external municipal government functions for the City Administrator. Work involves planning, directing, evaluating, and managing the activities of the Administration Office, acting as a senior assistant to the City Administrator, on often confidential, time-sensitive, and diverse matters spanning across all City departments on behalf of the Administration Department. The position requires considerable initiative and independent judgment and decision-making involving a wide variety of public, intergovernmental, and interdepartmental contact and acting as a liaison between the general public, elected officials, department heads, and the City Administration. The incumbent in this position is responsible for assisting the Mayor, City Administrator, and Chief of Staff with requests for scheduling, compiling time-sensitive and/or sensitive briefing information, and engaging with external constituents by answering and appropriately routing incoming telephone calls, written correspondence, and handling all CivicPlus inquiries from the public on behalf of the City Administration. This role supervises all non-exempt level personnel in the administrative office. This position works under the direct supervision of the Chief of Staff and the City Administrator.


CLOSING DATE: Until Filled


WORK HOURS: Monday through Friday, 8am to 4:30pm; Occasional After Hours Needed

Minimum Required Experience, Education, And Training


Graduation from a college or university regionally accredited through the U.S. Department of Education with a degree in Business or Public Administration or a closely related field is required.


  • Six (6) yearsof directly related professional experience may be substituted for the degree requirement as determined by the City Administrator.


Three (3) years of related experience serving in an administrative support role to an executive is required.


Miscellaneous Requirements


Must be at least 21 years of age.


Must be highly engaged in the department's goals, and be able to work cooperatively with Administration leadership in achieving those goals.


Must demonstrate excellent customer service to the department's internal and external customers.


Must possess a valid driver's license and must be insurable under the City of Branson's motor vehicle coverage when operating a vehicle as a part of the position


Must be able to pass a background investigation as well as drug and alcohol screenings.
