Job Description
Blue Native Landscape and Irrigation is a boutique style Landscape Construction firm, and we are looking to add to our team! We are currently hiring for the position of Estimator who will be working hand in hand with our Project Manager and Field Superintendent to develop estimates for future contract opportunities. We are looking for someone who is detail oriented, adaptable, and enjoys being part of a team.
Employment Type: Full time
Compensation: $40,000+ depending on relevant experience and skillset

Responsibilities include:
- Reviewing Construction Drawings for materials and specifications
- Creating tailored estimates with the help of in-house tools designed to streamline the process.
- Communicating with clients to help match our capabilities to their needs.
- Tracking Estimate progress from initial bidding all the way through final award.
- Assisting Project Manager with tasks related to estimating and project administration.

Qualifications:
- Good Communication skills. This will be crucial for communication with clients as well as team members.
- Attention to Detail. Projects are full of a wide range of details and no two projects are the same. Seemingly small details can make or break a project so having the patience to be careful and thorough is a must!
- Organized. There is a lot of information to process, and often times developing an estimate can take weeks and can pass through many different iterations along the way. Being organized is a necessity to keep tabs on everything.
- Professionalism. This is not just the way you talk or how you dress. This is about understanding how to speak to a client, and what details are important when putting together a proposal to make sure it looks inviting and legible.
- Adaptability. We are a tight-knit team and sometimes we have to be willing to step outside of our daily responsibilities to do what’s best for the team! This requires thinking on your feet and being unafraid to ask questions and constantly learning.
- Basic Computer Skills. We don’t have any complicated software but it’s crucial that you be comfortable with the basic Microsoft Suite, Adobe PDF editor, and Outlook email and appointment setting functions.
- Ability to work independently. Often times you will be mostly unsupervised, and we are trusting that you are adhering to our discussed list of task priorities and following through on our timelines to get the work done.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates or Bachelors Degree. If it’s mathematics or construction related that’s a huge plus but isn’t required. It will just make it easier to get started.
- Any landscaping or construction experience. The more you understand about what goes into the work, the easier it will be to learn how the business functions as a whole.
- Familiarity with Construction plans. Again, not a must, but it will help you get up to speed.
