Job Description

Duties

  • Identifying and use datasets to gather statistical data, perform analysis, and evaluate the effectiveness of the D and I program for an ORMDI district.
  • Providing oversight of D and I programs through data and trend analyses, on-site technical reviews/audits, and appropriate contact with employees, management officials and stakeholders.
  • Responding to a wide variety of requests for assistance, training, clarification, or information from managers, employees, and other stakeholders regarding diversity and inclusion programs.
  • Serving as an ORMDI District liaison briefing internal and external stakeholders at meetings/conferences related to D and I and special emphasis programs.
  • Monitoring facilities to provide feedback using multiple methods i.e., review of MD-715 plan and report, review of disability program goals, site visits, program reviews, etc.
  • Researching diversity and inclusion programmatic issues and recommends appropriate corrective actions or solutions.

To qualify for the GS-12, applicants must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-11) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience is defined as: (1) Reviewing databases to gather workforce data as it relates to diversity and inclusion efforts; (2) Analyzing workforce data as it relates to diversity and inclusion efforts in a professional organization; AND (3) Participating in formal reviews/business initiatives to increase underrepresented groups in the workforce.
There is no option to substitute education for specialized experience at the GS-12 level.
Note: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience you document, to include volunteer experience.

Additional information

Pandemic Telework Program: Due to COVID-19, the VA is currently in an expanded telework posture.
