Under the leadership of the HIT Applications Manager, the System Analyst II is a subject matter expert in their assigned application area and is responsible for supporting all aspects of build, maintenance, break/fix and optimization without the assistance of other managers, leads, or analyst relative to their subject matter area. This position is often consulted for their expertise and collaborates with other application analysts, Clinical Informatics, Instructional Designers and users. This position not only maintains and optimizes Montage’s electronic health record, but often recommends areas of optimization and opportunities to continuously improve its value.


The Analyst Level II is responsible for all Level 1 and 2 responsibilities as described below.


Level II Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Serves as a knowledge resource for the team, department, and internal end user clients related to both the assigned application(s), clinical workflow, interdependencies, and downstream impact on other Epic and Non-Epic applications and operational processes.
  • Subject Matter Expert in the development, testing, validation and optimization of the assigned Epic application(s)
  • Master of application design, dependencies, and interrelationships with other connected systems and Epic modules
  • Service oriented and seeks to Improve customer service and responsiveness
  • Primary contributor when troubleshooting problems and recommending solutions
  • Is capable of working on all aspects of the assigned application’s projects, task requests, and support without the assistance from managers, leads, or other analysts.
  • Is a master of assigned application(s) and applied workflows including clinical, technical and operational
  • Evaluates and recommends solutions for complicated projects and workflows by working directly with end users and HIT staff across the organization.


Level I Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Mastering HIT tools, applications, and processes
  • Follow departmental and organizational policies and procedures
  • Oversee implementation of upgrades and service update
  • Use Clinical background and subject matter expertise to build and support the application
  • Provide support to end users for software implementations, updates, and new version releases and document project issues
  • Gathering end user requirements and evaluating complicated workflows by working directly with end users
  • Developing and maintaining an understanding of clinical, technical and operational workflows to properly optimize the assigned application.
  • Maintaining focus on customer service and responsiveness
  • Participate in on call coverage rotation as assigned
  • Maintain fluency in HIT and industry best practices, tools, applications, certifications and processes
  • Complete testing and workflow validation of assigned applications and modifications before implementation into all environments
  • Serve as a resource in promoting the understanding, integration and application of information technology in healthcare settings
  • Excellent communication both written and verbal
  • Follow team standard operating procedures, polices, and use organization standard templates.
  • Troubleshoot technical problem.
  • Development, testing, validation and maintenance of the Epic application


Experience


  • Epic software knowledge
  • Microsoft Office products
  • Previous work as a system analyst
  • IT issue tracking software or "ticketing" systems e.g. Service Now
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Customer service


Preferred Experience:


  • Project management


Education


Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, informatics, education, business, or information systems required. Equivalent experience may be substituted.


Licensure/Certifications


  • Epic certification in assigned application


Epic certification is required within 90 days of completion date of course and as required to support new versions.
