EOC Pathway Development and Outreach Coordinator

Office of the SVC and Provost - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (23003723)
Implements a comprehensive outreach plan and plays a crucial role in expansion programs and service-based initiatives. Performs targeted outreach to engage new partners and identifies opportunities to expand the depth of the organizations providing episodic and long-term service projects to the University community. Identifies service trends and needs and provides comprehensive support for student-facing sustainability events. Performs budgetary functions and grant writing.
The University of Pittsburgh’s University Educational Outreach Center (EOC) is seeking a Pathway Development & Outreach Coordinator to support equitable K12 pathways to college for underserved and historically underrepresented students. This person works with diverse communities and oversees activities related to equity, diversity and inclusion requiring an awareness of, sensitivity to, and desire to engage with these topics. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:· Conduct community outreach and engagement activities to recruit youth-scholars to Pathway Programming,· Serve as a point-of-contact for assigned Pathway Programming requiring regular communication with stakeholders including youth scholars, families, school administrators, and community partners,· Implement Pathway Programming including INVESTING NOW, Pittsburgh Admissions Collaboration, Pittsburgh Public Scholars, and the Pitt Connection Portal,· Ensure the efficacy of Pathway Programming,· Assist the Senior Program Coordinator with program needs assessment, program development, and program evaluation,· Supervision of student support staff,· and Completion of other outreach and engagement duties as assigned. This is a hybrid position which includes time spent on the University of Pittsburgh campus and within the communities that we serve. Minimum Qualifications: This position requires the completion of a bachelor's degree and two+ years of relevant experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted per university guidelines. Must be proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and comfortable with social media engagement. Excellent typing, oral and written communication skills, and fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English are required for this position. Incumbent must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to function in an ever-changing environment. Access to transportation is recommended with the ability to travel in the City of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County. The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to the commencement of employment as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, and PA Child Abuse History Clearance. For position finalists, employment with the University will require the successful completion of a background check.
