Description


The Mannik & Smith Group, a well-established civil engineering and environmental consulting firm, with offices located throughout Michigan and Ohio, has an immediate opening for a GIS position in our Canton and Hancock, Michigan Office.


Key Responsibilities

  • Train Team Members as required.
  • Data collection and support of Environmental Permits.
  • Must be familiar with SDSs
  • Review and approve chemicals for use at various facilities
  • Complete Spill/Leak Reports and follow up on countermeasure
  • Maintain Hazmat Inventory / Waste Profiles.
  • Develop visual controls (using excel or PowerPoint) of Key Significant Equipment and High Risk Areas for education and compliance.
  • Interact with multiple layers of management to educate and support EMS implementation.
  • Conduct Environmental Inspections and summarize in monthly KPI report.
  • Create detailed PowerPoint presentations for weekly, monthly, and annual management reviews.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Familiarity with the Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, and Outlook
  • Willingness to continually improve
  • Ability to think creatively and propose new ideas and projects.
  • Knowledge of audit inspection procedures.
  • High degree of interpersonal skills with a willingness to work in culturally diverse team environment.
  • Bachelor in Environmental Engineering
  • Ability to work independently
  • Certified Industrial Storm Water Operator
  • Familiarity with ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems.
  • Knowledge of Michigan & Federal Environmental Regulations (Air, Water, Waste).
