Job Description

ICF seeks an Environmental Scientist to support our EPA contract with the Office of Superfund Remediation and Technology Innovation (OSRTI). If selected, you will work on technical projects designed to leverage hands-on knowledge and experience with site characterization and remediation technologies to promote improvements to the cleanup of contaminated sites. This role can be fully remote, in-office, or hybrid based on the candidates preferences and needs.
What you’ll do:
  • Manage a range of technical projects and multi-disciplinary project teams and interacting with clients.
  • Identify, evaluate, and document ways to improve contaminated site cleanup including technologies, approaches, strategies, and best practices.
  • Provide site-specific technical assistance to EPA to solve a wide range of technical issues related to site characterization, remediation and long-term management of contaminated sites, including reuse and redevelopment.
  • Support improvements to EPA’s management of environmental data from contaminated site cleanups including developing effective data management approaches and plans.
What you’ll need:
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience conducting site characterization and remediation of contaminated site with the following experience:
    • Experience preparing technical plans and reports for clients.
    • Knowledge of EPA cleanup programs (e.g., Superfund, RCRA, Brownfields).
  • Experience preparing technical plans and reports for clients.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in geology, hydrogeology, engineering or related environmental science field.

  • Previous experience working as a consultant or within a consulting firm with demonstrated project management skills.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment, manage a heavy workload, and meet internal and external deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide range of clients, partners, and stakeholders with differing levels of technical remediation knowledge.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:
$70,374.00 - $119,636.00
