We provide a variety of environmental services, including Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, property transaction screens, full environmental site assessments, soil and groundwater remediation using various treatment methods, groundwater monitoring, environmental compliance and permitting, and expert witness services. Our team enjoys a relaxed work atmosphere with significant flexibility.We provide our services to a variety of clients, including the FDEP and other governmental entities; private and publicly-traded businesses of all sizes – from mom & pop business owners to large, nationwide corporations; developers, banks, realtors, construction companies, and even other environmental consultants.
Taylor Environmental Consulting is currently seeking an environmental professional located in South Florida with 5-10 years of experience in environmental assessment, remediation, and project management.At least 2 years of experience as a project manager on FDEP ATC projects is required. The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, geology, engineering, or other related field and 40-hour HAZWOPER training.
The full-time position requires travel across South Florida and on occasion across all of Florida to conduct fieldwork which entails soil and groundwater sampling, overseeing soil boring and well installation, well abandonments, remedial system installations, O&M, excavations, etc. Fieldwork may be performed with another person, with subcontractors, and sometimes alone.
The position requires the ability to excellent writing skills, involving the preparation of reports typically documenting site assessments, groundwater monitoring, and natural attenuation evaluation. Report preparation also includes preparing figures, tables and charts.The successful candidate must be able to work well and accomplish tasks on schedule and within budget with minimal supervision.
:
- Manage, perform fieldwork, and prepare reports for UST closure assessments, site assessments, NAM, PARM, and well abandonments
- Subcontractor management and oversight including drilling and excavations
- Perform Phase I and II ESAs and prepare reports
- Communicate effectively and constructively with coworkers, regulators, and clients
- Assist with pilot testing, remediation system installation oversight and O&M
- Prepare dewatering permitting applications for FDEP, FDOT, WMDs, counties, and municipalities
- Prepare scopes of work and cost estimates
- Coordinate with field crews, providing technical direction and guidance
- Perform soil, groundwater, and surface water sampling in accordance with FDEP SOPs
- Manage FDEP ATC assessment, remediation, and monitoring projects
Job Requirements:
- Budget and personnel management
- Strong work ethic, reliability and the ability to work independently and with a team
- 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER training
- Working knowledge of FAC, Chapter 62-777 and 780 and FDEP SOPs and guidance documents
- Strong customer service skills
- Report preparation using Microsoft Word and Excel and Adobe Acrobat
- Physical capability to perform field and office work, including general lifting associated with field sampling – at least 50 pounds
- Excellent communications skills (verbal and written)
- BS or BA in geology, engineering, environmental science, or other related field required
- At least 2 years of experience managing FDEP ATC projects
- Valid driver’s license and a good driving record
- At least 5years of experience in environmental assessment
