Environmental, Health & Safety Specialist
JOB SUMMARY
The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist works with the business unit and Corporate EHS staff to support Coterra’s workforce safety and environmental stewardship efforts. This position assists the Environmental & Regulatory Manager in maintaining compliance with Company standards and reports to the Environmental Supervisor with primary duties including oversight of environmental remediation activities and management of the business unit’s water quality program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following represents the majority of the duties performed by the position but is not meant to be all inclusive nor prevent other duties from being assigned when necessary. Employees are expected to comply with all regulatory, environmental and safety rules and standards, as well as corporate policies
  • Assist in the education and training of company personnel
  • Management of water quality complaints and resolution
  • Perform other EHS-related duties as assigned
  • Advise internal stakeholders concerning EHS compliance, best practices, and expenditures
  • Oversight of business unit pre-drill sampling
  • Administration District Office’s of public water supply(s)
  • Oversight of environmental remediation efforts and reporting
  • Interface with community, regulatory and internal stakeholders
  • Manage business unit’s water quality program, which includes:
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Working knowledge of Pennsylvania Oil & Gas & regulations preferred.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills are required.
  • Must be self-disciplined, detail-oriented and change-adept.
  • Ability to read, interpret and communicate applicable industrial regulations.
  • Experience with site cleanups managed through the Pennsylvania Act 2 Program
  • Proficiency in geochemistry and ability to understand and interpret analytical data
Education Requirements
Min/Preferred Education Level Description
Required 4 Year / Bachelor’s Degree Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Environmental Science or related science discipline required. A minimum of ten years of directly related experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirements.

5-10 years Three (3+) years of work experience in an environmental compliance position in an oil and gas setting is preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMAND
Work is typically performed indoors in an office environment; however, field visits to worksite(s) and/or with stakeholders will be necessary. Incumbents must be able to perform work which includes typing, sitting and standing and moderate physical activity. In the event that incumbent visits operations worksite, personal protection equipment, including head protection, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety shoes, and flame resistant clothing is required. Safety rules including OSHA and DOT requirements are strictly enforced. Employees must be willing to travel and work extended hours on short notice. Periodic travel between the District and Regional office (in Pittsburgh) will be required.
