Job Description

Title: Environmental, Health & Safety Coordinator

Contract Duration: 18 + Months

Work shift (days/times): M-F, 08 - 16:30

Work Location: Salt Lake City, UT (Located next to the Salt Lake International Airport)


Required skill set – Able to manage multiple tasks/projects, tracking actions to closure; proficient at general computer work, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.


Description:

• Maintain all required records and documentation for EHS

• Process billing payments through an electronic system for EHS

• Maintain contractor on-boarding EHS requirements for Facilities.

• Own or actively participate in one or more Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Framework Elements.

• Supply, operate, and maintain personal protective equipment and ensure availability of safety supplies and PPE equipment.

• Verify that safety equipment such as Dosimetry and PPE are available to employees, and monitor their use of such equipment to ensure proper fit and use.

• Post and maintain all required notices on EHS bulletin boards

• Prepare and review specifications and orders for the purchase of safety equipment, ensuring that proper features are present and that items conform to health and safety standards.

• Report the results of environmental contaminant analyses, and recommend corrective measures to be applied

• Examine credentials, licenses, or permits to ensure compliance with site licensing requirements for EHS and Facilities

• Maintain facility Hazardous waste records, including data entry into the waste tracking program

• Assist in the timely completion of radiation licensing and state registrations

  • Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
  • Comply with EHS regulations and Policies
  • Aware of and comply with the Client Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality
  • Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position
  • Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines


Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Powerpoint, and Word.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • General knowledge of EHS programs, such as incident investigation, ergonomics, LOTO, confined space, hazard analysis, emergency preparedness, industrial hygiene, etc.
  • Previous EHS Training
  • Education – 2 or 4-year post-secondary degree, with coursework in occupational and environmental safety and health
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
  • Managing and tracking multiple EHS & Facilities projects to completion
  • Preparing periodic newsletters, safety topics, and other related communications
  • Coordinating and promoting multi-employee EHS fairs and activities
