Job Description

"Provide technical leadership and counsel to ensure efficient operation of the Tucson manufacturing facility.

Incumbent Define Objectives for Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) activities.

Ensures that the facility ES&H activities and systems support the Sector’s business objectives and effectively drives ES&H performance that meets or surpasses all ES&H and business objectives and requirements.

Focus is on the Health Care Sector and contribution toward the business strategy that achieves the long-term business and financial growth objectives of the business. This position reports to the Tucson Plant Manager. The incumbent provides environmental, occupational safety and industrial hygiene leadership to Avent Tucson.

The incumbent provides technical leadership and expert consulting on a wide array of operations issues, bringing significant depth and breadth of experience, both internal and external, to Avanos. The incumbent is responsible for development and implementation of the ES&H manufacturing plan to support the Sector’s Health Care business plan, ranging from monitoring and improving existing environmental and loss control processes to installing new environmental and/or safety systems focused on eliminating accidental loss in the sector.

The incumbent must lead and coach the culture that will accomplish these objectives on the required time line.

1. Sector’s ES&H Objectives which meet objectives in ES&H, cost, quality, productivity, asset management, customer service, housekeeping, and human resource development.

2. Identify and implement techniques that contribute to the establishment of a business and operating culture that achieves business and ES&H objectives by reducing lead times and effecting continuous improvement.

3. To provide leadership to team members and to implement systems and projects which result in significant business impact with exceptional ES&H.

4. Establish systems that monitor Sector and facility ES&H performance and implement corrective actions to assist facilities where performance does not meet established expectations. "

Job Position Purpose / Summary

Incumbent provides technical EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) leadership and counsel to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the Alpharetta facility, ensures alignment and compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements, implements corporate objectives and initiatives, and provides support to global sites as required by the Global EHS Manager.

Job Position Scope (Optional) This position reports to the Global EHS Manager. The incumbent receives direction from the Global EHS Manager, and provides environmental, occupational safety and industrial hygiene leadership and consulting to the Alpharetta site for accident prevention, loss control, and regulatory compliance. Job Position Accountabilities / Expectations

1. Define EHS objectives and initiatives aligned with corporate EHS goals, cost, quality, productivity, asset management, customer service, housekeeping, and human resource development.

2. Provide EHS leadership and training to team members.

3. Develop procedures and work instructions aligned with corporate and regulatory requirements.

4. Manage systems for EHS performance.

5. Provide EHS KPI’s monitoring and reporting.

6. Conduct incident and accident investigation, identify root cause and preventative and corrective actions.

7. Promote employee participation on EHS improvement. 8. Assist and collaborate with the rest of Avanos EHS team members on cross functional and multifacility projects. 9. Support ESG projects and initiatives globally.

10. Light travel may be required.
