Job Description
We are seeking an entry-level Lab Supervisor to support a medical laboratory in West Reading, PA.


This is an onsite role. Relocation assistance is available but subject to approval on a case-by-case basis by the company.


Job Summary:


Supervises the daily operations of Laboratory Services, ensuring adequate staffing on all three shifts; this includes monitoring turnaround times and patient satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Ensures all standard operating procedures and practices adhere to federal and regulatory agency standards (CLIA and JCAHO).
  • Evaluates new procedures, technology, or safety devices to maintain state of the art laboratory performance and capability, monitoring opportunities for increased efficiency and cost containment.
  • Works collaboratively with the laboratory management team on the collection of quality assurance data and the identification for opportunities for improvement.
  • Responds and assists in the correction of provider and patient issues or concerns.
  • Responsible for ensuring adequate supplies and consumables needed for the operation of Laboratory Services.
  • Collaboratively develops and implements technical orientation programs for Inpatient staff and coordinates continuing education to ensure quality development.
  • In conjunction with the Laboratory Services management team, prepares work schedules for the Laboratory Services to ensure adequate staffing, as well as responsible for all payroll functions.
  • Serves as a liaison and resource to central receiving staff in problem solving activities related to inpatient specimen collection and processing.


Requirements


Education:


  • Completion of a Clinical/Medical Laboratory Science program
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical/Medical Laboratory Science or other related field


Required:


  • Collaborative Skills
  • 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or medical laboratory setting
  • Excellent Communications Skills
  • Excellent Interpersonal Skills
