Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Write ETL, stored procedures, API calls, and queries to build prototypes and data transformations using Databricks notebooks or SSIS packages, and validate data to ensure business requirements are met.
- Review existing and new data sources and ingest data into Azure Storage and Azure SQL development and lab environments.
- Explore and analyze data from a variety of data platforms, including Oracle, Microsoft SQL and Azure, Teradata, and Salesforce.com, and transform transactional data for analysis and reporting.
- Validate objects built in data warehouse and track issues to resolution.
- Develop understanding of data requirements, business rules and metrics needed by Analytics and Reporting teams.
- Create data models and document detailed design specifications for development team.
- Utilize programming languages, including R, SAS, Python, Scala, Apache Spark or Hive, and work with cloud-based streaming, data warehousing, such as Teradata, SQL Server, Snowflake, Hadoop, AWS, Azure, Databricks, SAQL and NoSQL databases or Open-source data bases (PostgreSQL).
- Build optimal data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and scheduled jobs in Azure Databricks.
Telecommuting is permitted, but applicants must live within a reasonable commuting distance.
Skill requirements:
Requires experience in each of the following:
- Using data analytics to develop and design data infrastructure to enhance end-user tools;
- Building pipelines, visualizations, reports and automating processes utilizing the following programming technologies: SQL Server, Python, SAQL, Azure and Databricks;
- Collecting data metrics and sales performance package requirements to support launch of new tools and automation; establishing reports for senior-level leadership following analysis of data collected;
- Designing and building scheduled sales performance data pipelines with ETL services to collect large-scale, structured and unstructured, data from ECS, SFDC, and Teradata into single data lab;
- Experience in wireless industry and working with typical data structures to identify and resolve data engineering issues specific to wireless industry; and
- Identifying and developing QA testing on detailed data records and data lab structure to mitigate issues with data or processes that ensure availability of products to Data Analysts, Business Analysis Managers, and frontline sales leaders, as well as to maintain data integrity.
Experience and education requirements:
PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Computer Technology, Computer Science, or related and 1 year of relevant work experience.
ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Technology, Computer Science, or related and 3 years of relevant work experience.
